Creative Class Studio’s Toronto Début

Creative Class Studio, a new immersive art experience in Toronto’s Rosedale, is redefining how children engage with creativity, community, and nature. Founded by Rana Florida and Amanda Elliott, the Studio offers monthly workshops inspired by legendary artists including Frida Kahlo, Damien Hirst, the Haas Brothers, Kenny Scharf and Yayoi Kusama.

In a screen-obsessed world, these Toronto moms created a place for kids to make art and engage in unstructured play

At Creative Class Studio, two dozen third-grade girls sit at long communal tables, squealing with delight as they dive into their crafts. While studio hosts hover nearby, they don’t interfere — here, unstructured play is the priority.

“Providing a communal creative outlet is important to keep them off their devices, keep them off social media, and just give them a childhood again,” said Rana Florida, co-founder of the studio.
